Collier County sits just south of Lee County and has three cities: Naples, Marco Island and Everglades City. Naples gives you the Gulf beaches, the pier and the downtown blocks of 5th Avenue South and 3rd Street South. Marco Island, about 20 miles south of Naples, is the largest barrier island in the Ten Thousand Islands. Inland, much of the county is Big Cypress National Preserve, and the county offices sit in East Naples.
Collier covers 1,998 square miles of land, the most of any Florida county, within a total area of 2,305 square miles. Almost the entire southeast of it lies inside Big Cypress National Preserve, and the northernmost edge of Everglades National Park reaches its southern coast.
