Cape Coral sits west of the Caloosahatchee. Fort Myers, I-75, and RSW sit east. This page is the commute and bridge guide, not a redirect onto the Cape Coral city hub.
The three bridges
Cape Coral Bridge, Midpoint Memorial Bridge, and Veterans Memorial Bridge are the three crossings most people mean. Which one you use is a function of quadrant and time of day, not a slogan. SE Cape is closest to the Cape Coral Bridge into McGregor / downtown Fort Myers. Midpoint serves the middle of the city. Veterans / 75 is the north-side run toward I-75.
RSW
Southwest Florida International Airport is on the Fort Myers side. From most of Cape Coral it is a bridge plus surface streets. Relocators who fly in weekly feel that more than people who work in the Cape. If airport time is the decision variable, we will put Fort Myers and Cape Coral on the same shortlist instead of pretending the canal grid cancels a bridge.
I-75 and daily errands
I-75 is east of the river. Pine Island Road, Del Prado, Cape Coral Parkway, and Burnt Store Road are the in-city spines. NE Cape has the Pine Island Road retail corridor. SW Cape has Cape Harbour / Tarpon Point as the marina-village errand pattern. None of that replaces checking the actual drive at the hour you would make it.
